Today we drove through Sweden and it we saw much more rocks and forests, and it was generally more rugged.
Then we finally got into Norway (excited!), which was not surprisingly on a bridge over a fjord. The bridge led to a tunnel and in fact, lots of our journey was either bridges or tunnels, with lots of bends and mountains. Sean drove today, which was a relief to me on some of the roads particularly! Full of amazement at God's beautiful handiwork, but also the achievements of humankind in managing and working with the terrain.
Norway is, as expected, amazing. We stopped at a service station, more like a French aire, where the one open toilet was disgusting, but there was a path directing us to a viewing point which was totally stunning.
Leaving the E20 after about 69 miles took us into Drammen, more bridges and tunnels, including a roundabout in a tunnel underground: wow!!!
Then we arrived at Drammen camping - which is also stunning! When it said by the riverside, we didn’t quite expect this. And it’s sunny as well - 25°.
The facilities are a bit old-fashioned and basic, but the setting makes it well worthwhile. Time to relax in the sunshine looking at the river and forested hillsides.
And the Norwegians we’ve met so far are friendly (improvement on the Swedes!). Our ‘neighbours’ on both sides have had nice chats either us 😊
