The Norwegians are keen to remind us that the weather is not always like this...it got up to 27deg today! But wow, it's been amazing - we've been looking for shade. I even wore a dress (it is Sunday after all - although I didn't manage church today. Couldn't find any English speaking churches, and my Norwegian is even worse than my German!)
We had a lazy morning reading books, having coffee with our feet in the river watching the swans, and watching the different lights on the river.
After lunch we walked along the river towards Drammen - quiet as all the shops are shut for Sunday. It was a lovely walk, with much needed shady wooded areas too. We crossed a bridge and walked down the other side, where we saw an stately home garden and museum which we thought were closed - only to find both were open.
The gardens had peacocks, a cafe, and TOILETs, and the museum interesting.
We walked home for a cup of tea, chatted to our neighbours, cooked dinner and drank some wine. We are all packed up now ready for our next trip tomorrow - to Odda, or maybe somewhere else as we've been told it's very busy. We don't mind where as long as it's on a fjord (and the weather is due to break tonight and tomorrow to be a very rainy day for our travel)
