Then we travelled down to The Flying horse at Boughton Aluph (near Ashford) https://theflying.horse/   More getting used to driving, and the rain stopped eventually.

Beautiful pub and we were allowed to stay in their lovely field at the back for free, as long as we had a meal in the pub. This was NOT a problem for us!!!

The sun came out and we were able to get the chairs outside and enjoy it. We had the whole field to ourselves and could use the facilities in the pub.

We had arranged to meet Sean's brother David for dinner, as he lives nearby.

As we settled in, Sean posted a picture for his family and friends who knew the area, and our dear friend Simon (who does not live here any more) saw it, happened to be visiting his 90 year old Mum...so they came to visit us too. Another unexpected pleasure!

A very pleasant evening, only slightly spoiled by the rain coming back and keeping us awake a bit in the night. The sound of rain on a tin roof above your head is quite a racket!
