We awoke to the still stunning site of the Fjord - before any boats, still and unbelievably BEAUTIFUL. Breakfast with a view (inside as it was a bit too chilly for outside)! After getting ready (did I mention nice showers?!) and a few more pics, we set off on the windy road out - only to be held up (for about 15 mins!) by a herd of goats - then the tunnel and finally we were [sadly] free!
Then we started our journey to our next stop in Norway. The views were lovely: many more forests of pine trees and silver birch, and of course rivers, lakes & fjords. We saw misty mountains, isolated cabins, and grass roofed houses, orchards (for cider) and waterfalls.
We retraced the many tunnels, including the 16 mile long one (Sean drove this time) and the hairpin bends, but it was nice to see things without rain lashing down.
It was rainy off and on, but nothing like our awful trip on the way here - but we missed the blue skies!
Our new site is Slovika campsite, Jevnaker is on a lake, it's OK (toilets & showers look good!) and they serve pizza, so that helped us settle in.
And it was worth walking down to the shore to see the sun set!
